Vote For Your Favorite Flower

logo_largeI grow all kinds of flowers at my place and like to cut a fresh bunch when they are at their peak, but I mostly report on this web site about vegetables. Flowers are beautiful to look at, but we all have to eat!
Now you can vote on America’s favorite flower by visiting a display garden near you and then voting on your cell phone for the American Garden Award.
Now, the voting is sort of rigged since not all flowers are included but only six newly introduced varieties of flowers. Plus you can vote early and as often as you like.
Voting is done via texting on a cell phone or calling a toll free 800 number. There are 17 gardens around the country (at botanical gardens and some state fairs) where you can visit and see the flowers up close and in action. For more information and for a tally of the current vote totals to to the American Garden Award site. The winner will be announced this fall.
