Of course organic needs to be locally grown. If you are certified doesn’t matter then, at least if you are in good contact to your customers. I wonder how much more fuel got used to produce non organic locally grown crops pesticides/fertilizers (they have to be delivered by trucks, too). But yes, the last miles (literally) make the difference if you go into detail, the storage/cooling will mess up your CO2 calculations and environmental impact immensely.
Ah, the 80’s… thirty years ago. What have/haven’t we done then, if been born already at all.
