This Florida Farm Is Only Open In The Winter

UrbanOasis1The Urban Oasis Farm in Tampa, Florida, unlike most soil based farms that are open in the summer, is open from October to May. Urban Oasis grows in vertical hydroponic systems that can hold up to sixteen plants in the same space that only one plant could grow in soil. The amount of produce harvested is exponentially much more because of the vertical production.
The farm grows primarily tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and lettuce. It has seasonal harvests of broccoli, okra, eggplant, swiss chard, collard greens, green beans, diakon radishes, spinach, scallions,  zucchini, and culinary herbs. The farm offers CSA plans also.

My family went to a U-Pick strawberry farm vacation in Oregon. This seems like it would be right up our alley. That’s amazing!
