We have abundant wildlife around our rural property. Rabbits, squirrels, and raccoons are pretty and all, BUT they all either eat our veggies in the garden OR bite into our drip irrigation lines looking for water. I have contemplated getting the .22 out but I just don’t have the heart to pull the trigger. So I wait for nature to take its course…
Now a family of natural predators have moved in. I have seen a momma grey
fox with two small foxes several times in the past week. I have also found the the skeletal remnants of recently consumed rabbits around the property. Nature takes it course. BUT, reading about foxes in wikipedia, they can eat vegetables too. Am I replacing one pain in the ass garden with another?
4/29 Update: This morning a single fox, with no sight of the small foxes, roamed our yard and came within five feet of the window I was standing at…

I didn’t know foxes eat veggies. You learn something new every day. They always seem to be more interested in my in-laws chickens when we see them, so they are treated as a pest around the farm.
I case of “can’t win for losing” we used to have foxes on the island, but the introduced coyotes took care of them. Now we can’t get rid of the danged coyotes.
