The Land . . . A Touch of Reality in a World of Fantasy
As a visitor here, your biggest decision will be choosing how to traverse the place.
By boat? Not a bad idea. A slow float down a crystal canal through a bounty of botanical wonders.
By foot? This is a way to get up close and personal with Ceylon spinach, winged beans, peach palms and row upon row of waist-high sunflowers, their floral faces all angled the same way, in search of the sun.
And what an entertaining education! Wasp wars are waged over the expanse of tomato leaves. Ladybugs and lacewings abound, small and delicate they are, but capable of protecting the profusion of surrounding crops.
Welcome to The Land, Walt Disney Worlds vast display of working aeroponics (and hydroponics) in EpcotR Center. An aquaculture operation enclosed inside a series of greenhouses, The Land is an extensive exhibit with its many features connected to each other by a single meandering waterway. Here, serious research into the future of agronomy takes place in a world where castles, magic and bear jamborees come to life.
