Drip Irrigation--The Basics
Drip irrigation is the slow and even application of water to the soil. This allows for the proper soil moisture to be maintained in the root zone over extended periods of time, providing near perfect growing conditions for the plant. Water is no longer wasted by being applied faster than the plant and soil can absorb it or by being placed where the plant can not use it. Drip irrigation is efficient in the amount of water used, its placement and its rate of application.
