Hydroponics Road Show
A series of federally subsidized workshops in Oregon and Washington introduced the world of hydroponics to both professional and would-be growers.
More than 60 people, some of whom farm conventionally in the Willamette Valley, were on hand recently in Salem for the first workshop of 2004.
While hydroponics is growing at a somewhat impressive clip in Europe, the United States is slow to adopt the technology, workshop organizer Ed Bergheger told his audience.
