Thanks for this article. It is a shame that this farm is “dieing”, but the real cuprit is the current owners. There are so many possibilities to keep farms thriving that a farm should never “have” to go out of business. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA,s), organic, pick your own, farm markets, etc are just a few possibilities. It is disturbing that the owners seem determined to try to do things the way they’ve always done them instead of adapting to the times in which we live. I am sure they no longer farm the way they did when the farm was established, so why do they think they should try to continue to farm the way they did 80 or 100 years ago. Hopefully, the new owners will be more progressive and creative.
