I agree with her, that deep mulching controls common weeds… but I have several varieties of grass (no not the smoking kind) that send runners out like bamboo that are impossible to control with mulch, no matter how much I put on. UpsideDownStep by step instructions on how to build and install self watering upside down Earthbox type containers on your patio. There is no waste run off of the irrigation water to the plants. Aesthetics aside, they seem to work pretty well for growing veggies upside down.
